High Voltage 2011
Has anyone booked to go to this years High Voltage? The line up doesn't seem as strong as last year to me. Not sure if I would enjoy it as much as last year. Well The Reasoning, Marillion and Steve Hacket on the same bill was always going to take some beating!

Re: High Voltage 2011
Haven't booked tickets yet, but will be.
As to the bill, they've barely got half the acts announced yet and Dream Theater, Spocks Beard, Anathema, Jethro Tull, Queensryche, Pallas, Mostly Autumn, Neal Morse, Michael Schenker, Thunder and Black Country Communion is a pretty strong start to me.
But we all have different tastes I suppose.

Yes, you're right of course. I was probably just feeling the 'end of a hard week' blues when I posted.
Did you go last year? What were your highlights?

Another great line-up this year and I am sure the other bands yet to be announced will be equally as strong. Just wish we were playing again as last year was such a blast. What an honour and you all made it a million times better

Yeah, it was a great couple of days. Lovely weather , brilliant music, it was in London so I was home in an hour. Also found a tent round by the classic cars where you could sit down and have a nice cup of tea in a proper china mug, which was nice .
Musical highlights for me were Touchstone, Pendragon, UFO, Magnum, Marillion, Saxon (should've been on the main stage ), Heaven & Hell, Joe Bonamassa and Gary Moore (RIP ) doing a 'rock' set. Oh and there was some other band early on Sunday who weren't bad either, wonder whatever happened to them eh?

Re: High Voltage 2011
Sorted for this year , but it's got a lot to live up to after such a great lineup last year..... Not sure DT are headline material , but hope to be proved wrong ......Would love to see Roger Hodgson (headline prog stage) , Hawkwind , and VDGG on the bill.......Satriani wouldn't go amiss on the main stage either

Re: High Voltage 2011
Looking forward to see the metal stage announcements next week. Last year was fantastic and would be hard to beat. But there are already bands i'd like to see again. MSG, Queensryche, Dream Theater all get my vote. Not to mention Caravan, Jethro Tull

Nice one and HAPPY BIRTHDAY from all of The Reasoning
Re: High Voltage 2011
I think the line up is good. I know there will be two big announcements for the main stage. I'm guessing Whitesnake and Deep Purple. Because of something I heard a few months back about a Glenn Hughes comment
I wouldn't complain. Can't wait for Queensryche! and there is more bands i want to see then not see. The only band i'll avoid is Skin. Never really got into them.

It would be awesome if Deep Purple did it but I can't see them "supporting" JP or DT. Whitesnake would be a great addition a well. Can't wait to see them this year

Sundays line up looks to be complete ... Like yourself I can't see anyone of DP's or Whitesnakes status taking second billing to priest.....How DT got a headline slot is totally beyond me , I'd be surprised if there's a third festival after the weak announcements this year

You all know I love Dream Theater but I really didn't understand their billing as headliner. Definitely the "special guest" / 2nd from the top billing but not headliners, though they will undoubtedly be bloody amazing
Re: High Voltage 2011
I was there last year, and was blown away by the quality of the bands. My faves were UFO,Focus,Touchstone,The reasoning ....of course, and it was good to meet Matt,Rach and TT...Joe Bonamassa,Foreigner were surprisingly superb...never expected that!! And when Bachman Turner came on I was back to being 14 again!!!! Let's Rock!!!
Not booked yet for this years but would like to see most of the bands on so far....MSG,Priest,BCC,Thunder,Tull,BJH,.....................I like initials lol............All being well.I shall be there.

I'll be doing the Saturday of HV, as I'll be in London anyway the previous night, for another gig, I wonder which one that is??....
Looking forward to Queensryche and Anathema in particular, but should be a good day anyway!!
